On a more upbeat note, there were many positive outcomes in 2011 too. 1) My son returned from teaching English in China and my daughter returned from farming and teaching in Spain. Both are now gainfully employed and enjoying their work--that is a blessing to them and us, as parents. 2) I spent two weeks in Hawaii while the weather was dreadful at home. 3) And, for some reason this year, I decided to start this blog--it still surprises me every day that I'm doing this, BUT IT REALLY SURPRISES ME THAT YOU READ IT! I always hope that you're glad you stopped by.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of this young blog from 2011
My first blog project
My friend's gorgeous Spring display
A master bath reno
A picture from a beautiful store here
My sweetie relaxing--a rare sight, due to a medical condition.
Fall comes to Highpointcircle
Fall comes to Sally's
My idea of being cheap an upcycle
My visit to Vintage Boutique
I know I recently showed this, but it is my favorite Christmas mantle of my life.
This is another recent repeat, but it might be my favorite packages ever too.
We waited until Christmas evening to open these--at my children's request!
What a year in blogland for me. I cannot thank you enough--you keep me accountable. A friend asked me at a party recently, "What is is that you get out of blogging?" At first, I was taken aback and felt uncomfortable with the question. Why was I blogging? I thought about it for a long time and will continue to hold it before myself as I go forward, but the answer that I came up with is that I love to teach and blogging is a way to do that. I love to write and blogging allows me to do that too. In 2012, I hope to learn how to better use my very old "point & shoot" camera to its potential and I hope to learn more about blogging. If there is a subject you'd like to see me write about, please suggest it, or leave it to me and we'll see what comes about.
Thanks for reading and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Robin

Hi Robin I share your love of blogging and it looks like you're darn good with your camera. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, Robin. You have some great decorating ideas.
ReplyDeleteI started blogging in November and asked myself, why? When I started I thought if no one read it then it would be like my own personal record. I soon discovered there are some genuinely kind people out in blogland, generous in terms of what they share and their thoughtful comments. I am very much enjoying 'meeting' new people who I wouldn't encounter in my day to day life.
You have a beautiful blog, and I really love the picture of your husband relaxing by the water. Oh boy do I want to do that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I was just dropping by to wish you a Happy New Year and thank you for visiting my place and your special comments. I look forward to engaging more with you in 2012. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
