Seashell Addict

I've got a bit of a confession.  I'm a hoarder.  I love seashells and I have a lot of them.  I think this situation is beyond a cure and I'm not sure I'm ready for help.  Maybe I am a seashell addict!  Oh my goodness, I think I may be!  It's never a good thing to realize about one's self, but I felt I had to come clean on this issue.  I haven't taken to hiding my compulsion, yet...

I have so many shells that I cannot possibly show them all to you in a summer season and if I did, not one would be left reading (looking) at my blog, but...here's the summer mantle two different ways...one with a few shells and one with lots of shells.  Feel free to say which one you like better...I can take it, really.

Here's the simpler version, just a few lovelys...

Yes, sometimes I even put shells in shells...although...those aren't really shells in that shell, so maybe I'm safe on this one!

I loooove that pink color on this shell...

Okay, this is where I put out a few more shells.  Too much???  Be honest...no I'm not going to tear up when you say too much, I'll just swallow that lump in my throat and go on (probably to the shell store, but that what shell addicts do).

Isn't that big shell on the right just gorgeous?
Who could resist buying this one?
Could you, really?

Too much???

As always, thanks for reading (or maybe just looking at pictures).  Till next time, take care and enjoy summer nights!

(Yes, these shells are in addition to the post I did here on my living room's summer displays)

  7. I love the seashell's too. We have a large salt water 70gal tank and we love all things related to the sea...I also have a beautiful very large Sailor's Valentine made of seashells and it is one of a kind..so I can relate to your addiction, but I dont have it as bad as you..LOL! You have some beautiful shell's here..keep collecting..I have over 500 vintage valentines's so I know how it is! Hey, shell's are easy to store(like Valentines). Easier than some collections..Have a great end to the week..

  8. Robin, your seashells are gorgeous! I would say the first idea for the mantel though. Spotlighting those two large conch shells is a fabulous look. Love the way you placed the smaller two in one and left the other without. Makes it feel like you were walking on the beach and found it this way. Then take the other shells and put them in a glass bowl together on a table near by.

  9. I love the pictures with the most shells! You can never do too many. I just came back from Myrtle Beach and picked up a big bagful of shells! None as pretty as your shells or as big, but I was thinking of showing them off in a jar of some sort filled with water. I noticed how much prettier shells are when wet while I was at Honeymoon Beach near my home. I'm looking right now for just the right jar!

  10. I was so inspired by all the seasonal mantles that I gathered up a bunch of seashells and beachy stuff in my house and decorated the mantle, the entry table, the china hutch in the kitchen.... I love it and no, yours is definitely not too much, very pretty.

  11. I don't think you can have too many shells. I use little ones to keep my soil from drying out on my container plants. I use hot glue and glue them to mirrors and such. I just wish I had more!

  14. I say, what the SHELL go for the gusto. Sorry, I really am not one to swear, but I couldn't resist. lol! Really I think both looks are nice. One is just much simpler and cleaner looking. Depends on what you are going for. I tend to be a bit busy with my decor. I love the bottles on the candle holders and think some shells in more jars would be awfully fun. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
