And here too! |
You probably thought I'd forgotten all about this feature of my blog, but it's back......with lots of pictures! Now when I'm reading a blog and it says lots of pictures, I get excited to see something that will spark my own creativity. So....I hope this does that for you.
This room is a bowling alley--very long. So....I thought I give you that view first. Then we will settle into the area where my family watches movies and takes naps!
And this isn't even at the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement! A pool table was a necessity in this room. The burgundy felt is not a wonderful color choice--it was another time and another decorating scheme. And, yes, that is a treadmill over to the left--watching TV helps pass the time!
This is the pretty end of the looooooong room--at least in my opinion. Believe me, it was a looooooong time coming. I never thought I would like this room. Then, a friend came over and accessorized it for me from my own storage room! Funny, I can help others in their homes, but this room had me stumped for 18 years! Now I love this space because it finally feels like part of my home.
Left side of the room
The bookcases have so many treasures...
A picture my son drew in high school
My daughter's 4 year old hand
My Mom's movie camera
An hourglass from the church Christmas tree
My husband's Grandmother's radio that still works
My parent's wedding picture
Front & Center
The monster TV that we all love
This fireplace never drew the smoke out of the house very well so we took down the mantle and hung the TV on the bricks and can NEVER have a real fire here again. Okay by me, I'll just pop in a video of a burning fireplace!
Right side of the room
A table from my in-laws home that I really didn't want until I put it in this spot. Now I love knowing that we have a part of their home in ours.
Well, I warned you about lots of photos and I haven't even shown you the bar or the other end of the room. I'll give you a sneek peak as you leave. Maybe another day, in another post, we'll look at that end of this bowling alley room.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoyed the tour.

I love your house, Robin! You managed to blend the vintage and modern look in every room! I also admire your passion for the stuff owned by your parents, though they're really old enough to be displayed. I just hope you continue to treasure your precious collections and maintain your awesome-looking home. :)
