Happy St. Patty's Day to All!

An extra post this week to make sure that everyone gets my wish for a
Happy St. Patty's Day
and to share a recipe for Irish Soda Bread in celebration of the occasion.  This was my first time to make this bread, but I think now I will have to do it every year.  Enjoy the day and, please, wear green and watch people smile:)

No, the shamrock didn't bake into the bread magically--It is a decoration I added for the  picture.  Don't eat shamrocks on St. Patty's Day, they give you a nasty tummy ache!  The tea is green (of course) with jasmine.

Here's the Irish Soda Bread recipe

2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1 cup raisins
1 large egg
1-1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream

Preheat oven to 350F.  Butter a 9" round cake pan.  Mix dry ingredients.  Using either a pastry cutter or a food processor, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it is the size of peas.  Add the raisins to the flour and butter mixture and coat well.  Beat the egg, milk and sour cream and add to the dry mixture until blended.  Pour into the prepared pan and bake 50-55 minutes.  Toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the finished bread.

Thought you might need a look at the appropriate footwear for men at a Blarney Breakfast.  Now whose cute feet could those be?  (Hint:  I'm married to him!)  These are "vintage" Nikes from the 70's.  I had a picture of the whole family, but everyone threaten "the blogger" if she published them on "any social media".  Journalism is dangerous work people and I crave under pressure!

I'll leave you with this wonderful Irish blessing:
May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!

HAVE A WONDERFUL ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!
Eat or drink something green, but no frogs, please.
