Fall Porch Details

There's a party in blogland today and I've decided to go.  The theme is Door Decor, but why stop at doors, let's look at the whole porch!  So without much else, I'll show you a couple of spots on my front porch then we'll travel down the street to Connie's porch and see a couple of her decorations too.  Ready?  Let's go.

You've seen my front door once, but I don't think I've shown you the whole porch.  Here's the view walking up to my door.

I just loved the dappled light in this picture.  It was taken about 6:00 p.m.  I have a west-facing house with tall trees in the front yard that shade the afternoon sun and make the light dance.  The trees are so big, I cannot get a shot from the street of the house.

Here's another shot taken about 9:00 p.m.
I liked the light playing with the shadows--spooky!

Here's a close-up of the basket on one of the doors.
I love sunflowers--I have to, they are the state flower!

This scarecrow has been with us for a while.
He's sporting an outfit from my grown daughter's teen years.
Sometimes I think I should change his clothes and sentimentality tells me NO!

Okay, enough of our porch, let's see some of Connie's.

I love, love, love this lantern.
She decorates it for each season.
I need to show you her whole porch sometimes--it is fabulous!

On the other side of Connie's porch is this wire wheelbarrow that she also decorates seasonally.  Love the fern that is dressed for fall along with that pumpkin and mums.

Hope you enjoyed your visit.  Be sure and come again--I love your visits.  Robin

I'm going to these parties

  6. I love how you've made your double doors asymmetric. I have double doors as well and I always feel I have to do the same thing on each door. I'm going to try to come up with something asymmetrical.
    Thanks for the inspiration!
