Yesterday morning was RARE! The searing temperatures we've been experiencing in the midwest for the second summer in a row, gave a glimpse of relief. It was such BRIEF and SWEET, so I did the natural thing, I went out on my deck in my jammies and enjoyed it! Come, I'll show you where I went to enjoy a cooler morning.
This is the way to the sofa and a little morning reading
The view from the sofa and a lovely overcast sky...waiting for rain that never came
The reading spot...aaahhhh....
The view to go back to the house and reality
The view beyond the deck
Sometimes, I just go out on the deck, turn on the fan, and pretend it's not so hot...for just a few minutes.
As always, thanks for reading. Come by anytime!

Oh Robin,
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, friend! I live in Ohio and this has been an unbearably hot and humid summer - barely being able to STAND it outdoors.
Our respite on that sneaky momentary reprieve day where we are saying it is so danged cool and bearable - yet still almost 90 - was enjoyed here too. For about ten seconds, huh?
You have a lovely home and surrounding area- green and lush and lovely - and I do hope you are able to enjoy it again soon. Of course we then need to wish summer away, and being August 1st today it is going fast enough, that's for sure!
I discovered your blog from Fishtail Cottage. What a lovely place to read once you have cooler temps. We are over 100* in California too but without yourhumidity, thankfully. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteYour deck is so inviting and such a beautiful view... is that a neighboring golf course? I love green grass and always feel bad about not being able to maintain all the grass in years likes this when I have to water the gardens 24/7... I do allow for a few areas of lawn to be watered along with the gardens if for nothing more than my own peace of mind... Larry
ReplyDeleteThere's no harm in pretending. You have a lovely deck...it looks like it has to be cool and comfortable out there with all your lush plants.

Hi Robin, Your deck is gorgeous. What a great space! We're hot still too. Will be for a couple of more months. yuck! I'm new to your blog and loving it. I'm your newest follower. I hope you come by and say hi!

You have a beautiful deck and view! The weather you described is exactly what we are going through here in Massachusetts, too. It is unbearable! I'm your newest follower after finding your link on At the Picket Fence. I look forward to exploring your blog more.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Angela
What a beautiful outdoor space you have. Hope you get relief from the scorching weather soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spot! It looks so lush and comfortable, it's hard to imagine it as searing hot. But I'm in the Pacific Northwest. We've only begun to have a real summer over the last several days (I'm not complaining; it's just a frame of reference!).

Oh my - I can imagine how it is in the mornings when it is a bit cooler :) - You are amongst the lucky ones my dear lady :) - We live on a third floor with no green around the area - and no decks nor balconies - But I hear you about the heat - when it is very hot here we have a humidity on 84% (last measured) and no AC as it is not a common thing in Denmark - so I hear you :D Beside all, what a splendid series of photos - brigthning up my day - Thank you !!!1
