GOODBYE OCTOBER

Just a quick little post to wish you all a happy Halloween and say goodbye to October.  Does it feel like the holidays are about to happen to you?  I love the excitement of that feeling--family gathering, planning the perfect turkey (never happens), planning the perfect Christmas Tree (never satisfied with it)...  I still love everything the season ahead holds and am seriously thinking about getting my Christmas decorations out and just having a look...  It doesn't ruin Thanksgiving for me because I am so excited about everything that will happen preparing for it and Christmas

Being someone who loves design, I do always miss the decorations that I am putting away BUT I know I will be excited next year to open my plastic bins and see them with new eyes, even though some of them are very old.  It's fun to refresh the memories and revisit the people that surrounded them.

So, goodbye October.  Welcome November and all the joy that it will bring with the gatherings, friends, and activities.  I'm so ready to just jump in I can hardly wait.  Here we go...

Fall Nesting

I'm in a nesting sort of mood--tweaking the house, cooking more...gads, I'm even cleaning more.  I have to say, I sort of loving wanting to do these things...it's been a while since I've wanted to and I've missed the "wanting to".  Still following me?  Don't worry if you aren't, I'll move on.

I didn't do much "official" Halloween decorating this year, even though I bought some new stuff at the end of last season.  I just wasn't feeling it this year.  Do you do that in your own home too?  Go all out one year and then not so much the next?  I do and it's kind of like choosing which toys to play with at the time.  Can you relate?

This is one of my favorite inside pictures this Fall.  It just makes me happy to look at the shot and the spot where this is located in my home.

Here's the whole shot.  Unfortunately, the candle sconces are NOT still with us.  One of them took a lethal fall when I cleaned it.  Don't feel too sorry for me, I already have replacement lanterns hanging in this spot that I like better.  Sometimes it is good to break change things up a bit.

I got fancy today and made some peanut butter rice crispy pumpkins to give away.  I had three leftovers from the batch and decided to share them with you!  Enjoy and let me know how you liked them.  You'll have to supply your own coffee.

Good Fall tidings to all of you.  Thanks for the visit--please come again soon.

Happy Halloween

BHG picture
Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Halloween

I will be joyously handing out candy to anyone who stops by for as long as the candy holds out.  It will be with delight that I offer a piece of candy to a stranger and wish them a happy day.  So with that in mind, please enjoy all your visitors today, minus the spooky ones!

Eyeballs Anyone?

Would you like some whipped cream with dessert?

If you'd like some crunch, you can take a finger or two!

The eye of newt is especially tasty, if you like a creamy texture...

Oh, if you need extra teeth to fill in your set, help yourself--I have an extras.

Do come again, I'll see who what I can beat whip up.  Do call aHEAD!

Pondering Fall At Nell Hill's

The fall leaves in the upper right let you know Fall might be coming...please come soon with your cooler temperatures.

Ever think about adding a pitch fork to your floral arrangement?  Me neither!

Loved the book covers.  They were three for $9--I think I can do this for a whole lot less!

The Halloween section was impressive and I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but I got a few ideas.

I liked the wicker jug--goes right along with my beach inspiration too.  Thank goodness I have the jug already!

Another Halloween section, but with very bootiful things!  Sorry, couldn't resist!

A closeup of the bootiful things.  A mercury glass skull--who woulda though it?

Hands, eyeballs & moss--I think I'll try this at home.

While I was visiting Nell Hill's in Atchison, the display at Garrity's was being changed from a beautiful scene to another beautiful scene and the Christmas garland was already on the stairs.  I didn't mind the inspiration.  Hope you enjoyed a little Fall inspiration today.  I thank you for reading, as always.
